Dog shooter diminishes us all

Valerie Harriman

Dear Editor,

The news of the most recent dog shooting is particularly disturbing in that it was done by a sniper, on private property where Luther lived and walked with his family. Anyway you look at it, this was done by a cold-blooded killer who deliberately picked his target.

Who will be next? The link between animal abuse and human abuse is well known and documented. Now we have a coward loose with a rifle. Will his next target be a jogger or a child? Make no mistake about it, this evil, random act of violence threatens our entire community.

I strongly urge anyone with any information to call the authorities immediately. This is a dangerous maniac who has the potential to do great harm.

My heart goes out to the Beck family. I understand the grief and agony and disbelief they are feeling. I hope someone out there has the courage to step forward with the information necessary to bring this killer to justice.

Luther’s death diminishes us all.

Somebody somewhere, knows the killer.
