Dolores "Dee" Bell

Dolores “Dee” Bell, a resident of Battlement Mesa, passed away April 12, 2006, at her residence.Dee was born Oct. 31, 1934, in Detroit, Mich., to Anthony and Helen Sileke Ditri. She married Donald F. Bell Sept. 17, 1955, in Detroit.Dee was the current president and a life member of VFW Post 5485 Auxiliary of Parachute and was past president of VFW Post 3971 Auxiliary in Denver. She was the recipient of various national and Department of Colorado Auxiliary awards. Dee was a volunteer for RSVP through the Colorado Mountain College Senior Programs.Survivors include her husband; sons Danny Bell of Denver and David Bell, of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter-in-law Betty Bell, of Parachute; grandchildren Catherine “Cathy” Bell and Dawn Bell, both of Parachute; and great-grandchildren Jevontae and Rudy, both of Parachute.There will be a visitation at 1 p.m. and a rosary at 2 p.m. on Monday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.Memorial contributions may be made to the Dolores “Dee” Bell Fund at any Alpine Bank location.Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
