He is survived by his spouse, Catharine, of Grand Junction; sons Donald F. Gardineer Jr. of New Castle, and Tommy Jo Gardineer of Rifle; daughter Michele Grey of Silt; sisters Melody Gardineer of Aurora and Penny Gardineer of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; five grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
