Donna Belle Pretti passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Grand River Hospital in Rifle. She was 81.

Donna was born on Dec. 19, 1929, to Robert Hatton and Emma Paulus Hatton in Rifle. She attended schools in Rifle and graduated from Rifle Union High School in 1947.

In addition to being a housewife and mother, Donna spent several years working for the telephone company and many of the trucking companies owned and operated by her husband, Don.



Donna married Don Pretti on Feb. 22, 1948, in Rifle, who preceded her in death in 2009 after 61 years of marriage.

To this marriage, four children were born: Linda Suzanne, Sharon Kaye, Donald Joseph and Paul Eugene.



She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Clyde Hatton.

Donna is survived by two daughters, Linda (Alvin) Hansen of Rifle and Sharon Fazzi of Silt; two sons, Joe (Sharon) Pretti of Cove, Ore. and Paul (Linda) Pretti of Elizabeth; sisters, Hazel Blake of Littleton, and Ruby of Loveland; and brother, Jack (Lillian) Hatton of Paonia; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.

Cremation has taken place, and per Mrs. Pretti’s wishes no funeral services are planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the E. Dene Moore Care Center in Rifle, CO or the charity of your choice.
