Donna Michele Piccione

Donna Michele Piccione, 54, lost her battle with cancer Oct. 13, 2005, at Valley View Hospital.

Donna was born May 27, 1951, in Denver.

She lived in Salida for the past four years. She was a gifted artist and also delivered newspapers.

Donna loved and cared for all animals and was known to take in strays that were down on their luck. Donna was passionate about art and life. She was a very loving and caring person who will be missed by all who knew her.

Donna is survived by her son David Gian Carlo Perrone, 14, who was the joy of her life; brothers David (Claudia) Piccione, of Glenwood Springs, and Doug Piccione, of New York City; sister Diane (Wendel) Gipe, of Carbondale, and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Dorothy Piccione.

There will be a celebration of her life at noon Saturday at the Chisholm Park, 319 Hunt St. in Salida.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to an educational fund for her son David Perrone c/o of U.S. Bank, 802 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601; or the Ark Valley Humane Society P.O. Box 1335, Buena Vista, CO 81211.
