Don’t cut back on letters to the editor
Dear Editor,
I am very disappointed to see that you have decided to limit how often you publish letters to the editor! Twice this week there have been none, and it’s only Tuesday! If you are short on advertising funds you should cut back elsewhere (if you need some suggestions, just ask.) We have many issues, both local and national, that area residents desire to share their concerns and opinions about. Our little valley is experiencing extreme growing pains with many topics of concern. It is extremely important that these issues are communicated in a public forum. I believe the heart and soul of a local paper are the letters from the community it serves. That should be he last item deleted from a “local” newspaper. If this is one of the results of your “new and improved” newspaper, you have gained nothing!
