Dorothy Louise Rovedo

Dorothy Louise Rovedo of Grand Junction died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003. She was 78.

She was born Feb. 16, 1925, in McCallister, Okla., to Nellie Thompson and John Whiley Housley. She spent her childhood in McCallister and Fort Smith, Ark.

She married Paul “Louis” Rovedo on Oct. 15, 1941.



Mrs. Rovedo loved to dance and to take care of those around her. She would never sit still during a holiday meal. She also loved to spend time in nature with friends and family, camping and picnicking.

She was preceded in death by sisters Margie Fimple and Laverne Duncan.



Mrs. Rovedo is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John Paul and Cheri Rovedo of Divide; by a daughter, Shirley Ann Buck of Grand Junction; and by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grand Junction.

Callahan Edfast Mortuary of Grand Junction is in charge of arrangements.
