Douglas W. Olds, 93, of Rifle died Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Colorado State Veteran’s Nursing Home in Rifle. Mr. Olds was born Sept. 21, 1911, in Yakima, Wash., the son of Jas. Riley and Nellie (Hastings) Olds. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mabel, and on Aug. 15, 1957, married Dena Olive Updike Most in Glenwood Springs. A member of the First Christian Church of Rifle, Mr. Olds retired from Union Carbide. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and camping, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Dena, of Rifle; one stepson, Ernie and Sue Most of Rifle; three grandchildren, Corby (Richard) Mascarenas, Ken (Sam) Most, and David (Karen) Most; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle. Cochran Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
