Downtown Market closes the season with Oktoberfest

The second season of the Glenwood Downtown Market closes Saturday with a fall Oktoberfest theme.The Oktoberfest celebration takes place from noon to 6 p.m. in Centennial Park, located at Ninth Street and Grand Avenue downtown. The market features a variety of farm-fresh produce such as apples, squash, specialty melons and tomatoes from Z’s Orchard and Abundant Life. A variety of Colorado crafters will be on hand for the final market of the season.Live music begins at noon with valley band Cole Campbell and Rattlebone, playing classic and modern rock, blues and original music. Beginning at 3 p.m. Alpine Echo, featuring John Pataky of Rosi’s Little Bavarian Restaurant on the accordion, will entertain the crowd with traditional German polka tunes.Seasonal libations – including Erdinger Weissbier specialty beers, Blue Moon pumpkin ale, and Sam Adams Oktoberfest, and fare from the 8th Street Deli, Maple Table and Bonjour Bakery highlight the market’s German menu offerings.For more information, call Jan at 618-7842.
