Drilling companies moving gas rigs in the area this week

Two gas drilling rigs are being moved this week, one by Bill Barrett Corp. and Nabors Drilling (BBC) and the other by Antero Resources.

Both moving operations began on Monday, the day they were reported by the Community Counts industry information service and the Garfield County Oil and Gas Liaison office.

The Barrett-Nabors rig was scheduled to move from private land along the Colorado River Road (County Road 335), along Divide Creek Road (CR 311) and I-70 to Mamm Creek Road and the Eagle Springs Ranch Road. The move is projected to take until Thursday.

The Antero drilling rig was scheduled to turn onto Divide Creek Road (CR 311) from Valley Farms, heading east and south for almost three miles to the Williams/Antero Access Road, and continuing east on private road. This move also is projected to take until Thursday.
