Drop the finger-pointing

Dear Editor,

In response to Mr. Bob Anderson’s letter in the May 29 paper. How dare you cast shame on me, Mr. Anderson, or on anyone else for that matter?

Personally, I was decorating family graves in Grand Junction as I have done every year of my life! Besides that fact it is Memorial Day, and since our memories go with us where we go (including biking, rafting, and barbecuing) we don’t have to be in a cemetery to remember our loved ones.

And we certainly don’t have to be at a rally to support our troops.

My memories are mine to do with as I please and so is my spare time.

Stop attacking people who do things differently than you and don’t meet your high and perfect standards, and please stop broadcasting your little and loud daily complaints about everything and everyone.

The world and its inhabitants are imperfect. Pointing your finger at the imperfections and complaining about them does not improve the world, or you.

We should all work on bettering ourselves before we cast shame on anyone else. Anyone with something valuable, interesting or enlightening to contribute is a welcome addition to the newspaper, but I think we are all tired of the words and letters of negativity that are certain people’s only contributions to our paper and our town. I suggest they start a newsletter group so that only their subscribers are subjected to their negativity.
