Duke Edward Hanson

Duke Edward Hanson of Queen Creek, Ariz., died Monday, July 7, 2003, at his home. He was 44.

Mr. Hanson was born Jan. 8, 1959, in Montrose to John Edward and Norma Lea Hanson.

He grew up in Glenwood Springs and graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in 1977.

Mr. Hanson attended the Colorado School of Mines and the University of Colorado. He graduated from C.U. in 1982 with a degree in electrical engineering.

He married Sheila Benson on Sept. 1, 1990, in Dubuque, Iowa.

Mr. Hanson worked as an electrical engineer for Motorola for 21 years.

He is survived by his parents, John and Norma Lea Hanson of Glenwood Springs; by his wife, Sheila Hanson of Queen Creek, Ariz.; by daughters Lexis Hanson, Lindsay Hanson, Lacy Hanson and London Hanson, all of Queen Creek, Ariz.; by a sister, Kendra LaFon of Arvada; by a brother, Clark Hanson of Chandler, Ariz.; and by a grandmother, Elva Clark of New Castle.

A memorial service was held Saturday at the Falconer Funeral Home in Gilbert, Ariz.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Hanson’s name to TruWest Credit Union, P.O. Box 3489, Scottsdale, AZ 85271-3489.
