Eagle County Sheriff’s Office searching for assault suspect
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. ” The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect in an assault case that occurred at the Dotsero boat ramp.
On Friday, Sept. 14 at about 8:30 p.m., law enforcement was dispatched to the boat ramp off of Highway 6 for an assault in progress call.
The suspect has been identified as Brian Patrick Easter, 40, of Burns.
A 35-year-old woman from Burns was found with bloody clothing and was transported to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. She was treated for non-life threatening injuries and later released.
According to witnesses and the woman, Easter beat the woman with his fists. A hunter camped in the area used his firearm to scare the suspect away prior to law enforcement arrival.
Easter is believed to be the woman’s boyfriend. He allegedly became upset with the woman and started punching the windshield inside his vehicle, then assaulted her.
The ECSO obtained a nationwide arrest warrant for Easter with the charges of third- degree assault, violation of a restraining order and domestic violence.
Easter was last seen driving his red 2000 Ford Ranger pickup with Colorado 911OEO plates. He has not been seen since the incident.
