Earlene Roach to run for Eagle County Clerk

Earlene Roach, currently Eagle County’s liquor licensing inspector, has announced she will run for the county clerk position in November.

Roach has worked in the Eagle County Clerk and Recorder’s Office for 23 years, and said, “My experience and knowledge of Eagle County government is undoubtedly one of my strengths. But equally as important is my long-standing relationship with the community and the people of Eagle County.”

Incumbent Eagle County Clerk and Re-corder Sara Fisher cannot run for re-election due to term limitations.

Roach said she has worked for three county clerks, and her positions have included deputy clerk to the county commissioners, office manager, and in the recording and motor vehicles departments.

Roach, a Democrat, said she wants to make the Clerk and Recorder’s Office more user friendly.

“Interacting with local government should be as simple as possible for the citizens of Eagle County,” Roach said. “My goal is to provide support to co-workers and to inspire everyone in the clerk and recorder’s office.”

Roach lives in Gypsum. She graduated from Pagosa Springs High School in 1970, moved to Eagle County in 1971, and married Lloyd Roach in 1972. The couple has three children.
