The First United Methodist Church in Glenwood Springs will hold the following events:

On Friday, April 2, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary – an ecumenical choir performing the cantata “My Savior – An Easter Celebration” and directed by Laura Porterfield.

Easter Day: first worship service at 8 a.m. in Bethel Chapel; potluck breakfast at 9 a.m. in Fellowship Hall; Easter egg hunt at 9:45 a.m.; Easter worship service at 10:30 a.m. in Sanctuary.



On Sunday, April 4, there will be a sunrise service at the top of the mountain at Sunlight Mountain Resort at 8 a.m. Lifts will load guests from 7:30-7:45 a.m. You must have a lift ticket or season pass to get on the lift. The ticket office will be open at 7 a.m. if you need a lift ticket.

There will be an Easter egg hunt following the service.



The Sounds of Praise choir, a valleywide ecumenical choir directed by Laura Porterfield, will be performing a Good Friday concert, “My Savior, My Lord – An Easter Celebration,” at 7 p.m. Friday, April 2, at the Glenwood Springs United Methodist Church. Mountain View Church invites the community to Easter Sunday morning service. Fellowship and refreshments begin at 9:15 a.m., and the worship service begins at 10 a.m. The service will include special music presentations and a message from Pastor Dave Pearson. Child care is provided for infants through age 3 and a children’s program for children age 4 through second-grade begins mid-service. Please join us. For more information, call 945-8328. Mountain View is located 1.5 miles south of Glenwood Springs off of Highway 82 next to Buffalo Valley.

Free Easter egg hunt for toddlers to fifth-graders on Saturday, April 3, at 9 a.m. at the New Creation Church, 44761 Highway 6 west of Glenwood Springs. Petting zoo, music, face painting, candy, prizes, drawings and more than 5,000 hidden eggs.

The Trish Romero Insurance Agency will be hosting an Easter egg hunt at Elk Creek Elementary School in New Castle on Saturday, April 3, at 10 a.m. rain, snow or sunshine.

Bring a basket to fill with candy and have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny.

Join Carbondale Recreation for its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Sopris Park on Saturday, April 3. Please arrive promptly because the hunt has a 10 a.m. shotgun start and only lasts a few minutes. Be sure to bring your own basket to collect eggs with. Participants will be divided up according to age. Registration for the Easter basket raffle will begin at 9 a.m. Or you can stop by the Carbondale Recreation and Community Center anytime before Saturday to fill out a form. You must be present to win. Both the egg hunt and the raffle are free events for children ages 1-8. Following the egg hunt and raffle there will be a chance to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. The First Baptist Church of New Castle will hold a Good Friday Service, April 2, at 6 p.m. beginning in the Fellowship Hall. We will have a meal, followed by a presentation of “The Messiah: The Expected Deliverer and King.” The Lord’s Supper will follow the presentation. First Baptist Church is located at 172 N. Seventh St. For more information, call 984-2306. Our Easter Sunday services begin at 7:30 a.m. with a Sonrise Service, followed by breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. “The Passion of The Christ” will be shown at 9:30 a.m.
