GLENWOOD SPRINGS – The City Council could ratify a new economic development strategy at its meeting Thursday night. The strategy, if approved, would assist city leaders in making choices that could help city’s economy. “The plan was prepared at the direction of City Council to respond to changing economic conditions and to identify priorities, actions and investments to enhance the economic and fiscal health of the city,” the introduction of the report states. The report was composed by Denver-based Economic and Planning Systems, Inc. Also on the agenda, City Council will:• Make a proclamation that July 23 and 24 are the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life days. • Receive the 2003 city audit. • Consider the public improvement fee collecting agent agreement. • Consider whether to approve a preannexation agreement to provide water and sewer service outside the city limits. • Receive a quarterly update from Lori Hogan of the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association.
