Edna E. Vandre

Edna E. Vandre of Rochelle, Ill., died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at her home. She was 85.

A memorial service was held Monday, Dec. 8, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle. Burial followed at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.

She was born Edna E. McCaslin on April 3, 1918, in Rochelle, Ill., to Anna Card and Roy McCaslin.

She married Herbert M. Vandre on Dec. 25, 1944, in Rochelle. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1987.

Mrs. Vandre was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for nearly 60 years, and was a member of Hub City Senior Citizens and Ogle County Senior Citizens.

She was known for her sweet disposition and her kind words for all.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by three brothers.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Wayne Bunger of Rochelle; by sons and daughters-in-law Dean and Carol Vandre of Mendota, Ill., Mark Vandre of Batavia, Ill., Gary and Linda Vandre of Mahomet, Ill., and Paul Vandre and Blair Lowery of Glenwood Springs; by one brother and four sisters; and by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10th Ave., Rochelle, IL 61068.

Unger-Horner Funeral Home of Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
