Basalt High School Booster Club will hold its annual spaghetti supper on Back to School Night from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7. The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for students and free for children 3 and younger.

Dinner will be served in the Basalt High School cafeteria. Proceeds benefit athletic programs at BHS.

The third annual St. Stephen’s Golf Classic will be at Ironbridge Golf Club in Glenwood Springs on Saturday, Sept. 16. The four-person scramble event costs $500 per team or $150 per individual. The fee includes lunch, greens fees, carts and appetizers after the round. Sponsorships are also still available.

Host families are needed for foreign exchange students to complete a nine-month high school program.



Students must arrive by Sept. 1. Contact the local coordinator for the Council for Educational Travel USA at 625-0481 or 404-2444 to discuss options, which include one month, four and a half months or a permanent home for the academic year (nine months). Qualifying family must be interviewed and submit to a background reference/criminal check. Student must have his/her own room, or share with host sibling of same gender within three years of the same age. Student must share at least one meal a day with family along with transportation between school and home. The student will have health insurance and spending money.
