Children entering grades 1-12 in Basalt, Carbondale or Glenwood Springs for the first time this fall or children from Spanish-speaking families may register for school at one of the Newcomer Welcome Centers, located at Basalt Middle School, Crystal River Elementary School or Glenwood Springs High School. Everyone speaks Spanish at these centers.

Register Aug. 18-21, Aug. 25-28, and every Thursday from September to June. Registration begins at 4 p.m. Parents or guardians must accompany their child to registration.

Registration is also open from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 13 and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 14-15 in the school your child will attend.

An appointment is needed for registration. You can make this appointment in the school office.

For more information, call 384-6186.

Registration at Colorado Mountain College’s fall semester is now under way, with most classes starting the week of Aug. 25.

You can view the abbreviated, “greener” course schedule you should have received in the mail. And go to CMC’s website, http://www.coloradomtn.edu, to find out more about classes at your local campus.

New students to CMC and students who have not taken classes within the past 10 months need to register in person. Students who have taken classes at CMC within the past 10 months can also sign up by mail, phone, fax or online at http://www.coloradomtn.edu/register.
