High school seniors seeking to attend college in fall 2009 are encouraged to contact Computers for Kids, which has been named an official Daniels Scholarship Referral Agency.
The Daniels Fund will award a projected 300 Daniels scholarships in the spring to graduating high school seniors. Students may use their scholarship at any two- or four-year accredited nonprofit U.S. college or university with an intention to complete a bachelor’s degree.
Candidates should demonstrate financial need, strength of character, academic promise, leadership potential, and other qualities.
The deadline for applying for the Daniels Scholarship is Dec. 10, and students must have already completed either the SAT or ACT test. For information, please contact Kirsten McDaniel at 963-7259.
Holy Cross Energy will sponsor one local high school student to attend the National Rural Electric Youth Tour June 11-18, 2009, in Washington, D.C.
Interested high school students must be age 16 by June 1, 2009, and live in a household of a Holy Cross Energy member.
Interested students must submit a 500-words-or-less essay on “How To Meet The Energy Needs of Tomorrow.” Student’s name, address, phone number(s), age and Holy Cross Energy account number must be included with essay.
Essay deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 12.
