Colorado Rocky Mountain School senior Caelina Eldred-Thielen took first place at the recent State Shakespeare Monologue Competition at the University of Denver.
Eldred-Thielen competed against 12 other high school students from around the state, presenting her CRMS competition-winning Shakespeare comic monologue, portraying Viola from “Twelfth Night,” along with Shakespeare’s Sonnet No. 23.
By winning the state competition, she now receives an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City April 22-25 to compete nationally against more than 50 other high school students from around the country at the famous Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. The winner of the national competition receives a summer session to study theatre at Oxford University in England.
Teeny Jeung Memorial Health Sciences Scholarship

Valley View Hospital Auxiliary offers four scholarships in memory of Teeny Jeung, a longtime nurse at Valley View Hospital. Any local high school student who has been accepted into a health sciences program at a college or university is eligible to apply for these scholarships. These scholarships are for graduating high school seniors only. All completed applications are due Friday, April 16, and will be reviewed by the VVHA Scholarships Committee. The Valley View Hospital Auxiliary Health Sciences Scholarship
VVHA has established a Health Sciences Scholarship for persons entering or continuing with studies in the medical field. Two scholarships will be awarded to students planning to pursue a career in the health sciences. Any person wishing to study or to continue studies in the medical field is eligible for this scholarship.

Valley View Nursing CMC Scholarship
The Valley View Auxiliary sponsors four scholarships each year through Colorado Mountain College. CMC administers the qualifications and awards the scholarships to persons continuing their education in the nursing field. Only students accepted into the CMC nursing program are eligible for these scholarships. For information regarding these scholarships, including applications and deadlines, call the CMC Foundation at 947-8355.
