Wayne Starr of Rifle, a second-year student in Rochester Institute of Technology’s B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, made the dean’s list for the Fall 2012 quarter.

Foster Gross of Glenwood Springs High School was among 19 students from the Third Congressional District nominated to U.S. service academies by Rep. Scott Tipton. Gross was nominated to Annapolis.

Got a new tech toy for Christmas and not quite sure what to do with it? Starting on Dec. 26, book a librarian or tech specialist to assist one-on-one with setting up and utilizing new devices. Appointments will be held at the Rifle Branch Library on Dec. 27 and 29 and Jan. 3 in half-hour sessions during the library’s regular business hours. Stop by the front desk of the library to sign up. Not only do participants get to read new books and receive prizes for doing so, but they will be helping others learn about great reads, as all reviews will be posted on the library website and on the book itself.
