Bookcliff Conservation District and the Norm Hunt Family has announced that they will provide two $1,000 scholarships to two graduating senior high school students for the 2013 school year in honor of Norm Hunt.
Norm served on the Bookcliff Conservation District from 1994-2008. He was instrumental in obtaining several grants to assist the water users of the Silt Water Conservancy District upgrade their irrigation system. Norm was a dedicated board member that took his role as supervisor seriously, attended meetings regularly, participated in many of the districts’ programs and always put the landowner and their needs first. The scholarship is available to students that attend Grand Valley, Rifle and Coal Ridge high schools. Joseph Ciborowski of Glenwood Springs, a member of the class of 2015 at Washington and Lee University, has earned dean’s list status for the recently ended Fall 2012 term.
Dean’s list status at Washington and Lee represents a term grade-average of at least 3.4 on a 4.0 scale.
