Edward Boyd Butler, most recently of New Castle, formerly of Orange, Calif., passed away on Jan. 15, 2008. He was 83.

He was born in Rock Springs, Wyo. on June 24, 1925. He married Theresa Hudachko on Jan. 26, 1952.

Ed (Boyd) was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served four years as a radar operator in WWII. He was aboard the USS Princeton when it was sunk in Leyte Gulf in 1944. He went on to work in the oil fields and as a trucker in Wyoming. He married “his sweetie” Tessie, in Rock Springs in 1952 and the later relocated to Orange, Calif. where they lived for 50 years. Ed worked in the construction field and also enjoyed wood carving, travel, and his many friends. He was a member of the American Legion for 60 years. His sense of humor and stories will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Tess; daughter, Lisa; son-in-law, Sean; grandson, Mackenzie; niece, Barbara; and nephew, Ethan.

A memorial and military service will be held at a later date in California.
