Edward F. Hershey, age 66, of Lady Lake, Florida, died Saturday, March 5, 2011 in Sumterville, Florida.

He was born in Baltimore, MD on July 31, 1944 to Milton and Ida Hershey.

He spent his childhood in Baltimore and enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He returned home to Colorado and married Linda Lou Combs in August 1967. They had 2 daughters, Robin and ElDonna. The family moved to Rifle in 1976 and made it their home. He was a safety manager in the Construction industry before retirement. He enjoyed golfing, baseball, football and the Florida sunshine. He was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion both of Colorado, and Lutheran by faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Linda Lou Hershey.

He is survived by his daughters, Robin (Sean) McMillan, ElDonna (Dwayne) Montgomery; grandsons Tyler McMillan, Drake Montgomery; and granddaughter, Emma Lou Montgomery, all of Rifle, CO; four brothers, Milton Hershey, Lady Lake, Fl, Harry Hershey, Myrtle Beach, SC, Louis Hershey, Ocean City, MD, Ronald Hershey, Baltimore, MD; and one sister, Jocelyn Lynn, Midway, KY.

Per Mr. Hershey’s request, no services will be held, but would appreciate any donations to be made to The American Cancer Society or Cornerstone Hospice in Lady Lake, Florida.
