Edward Robert Templeton

Edward Robert Templeton, age 84, passed away April 12, 2006, in Cañon City. He was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Jerome, Idaho, to Robert and Hazel (Peterson) Templeton. He and his family came to Basalt when he was 5 years old and ranched near Glenwood Springs. Edward was married to Wanda Myers Webb. He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. He had a lifetime certificate with the American Legion and was a former commander.In 1983, he and Wanda moved to Cañon City to retire. Edward always had a big garden and shared the crop with his family and friends. He started everyday having coffee with friends at 6 a.m. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife; step-daughter Darla Brown, of Carbondale; step-granddaughter, Krishna Brown, of Aurora; great-grandchildren Cody and Brook Gage; brother Harold Templeton, of Paonia; and aunt Zella Eiswerth, of Florence. There was a memorial service April 15 at Lincoln Park Church of the Nazarene in Cañon City. A graveside service was held April 17 at Basalt Cemetery in Basalt. Arrangements through Holt Family Funeral Home in Cañon City.
