Effie Teresa Neptune, age 76, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 28th, 2012, at her home in Glenwood Springs with her children by her side.

She was born to Henry and Alice Manzanares, on December 8th, 1935, in Rifle, Colorado.

She spent her childhood in Craig, Colorado before marrying Edward Clayton Neptune on July 21st, 1961.

Effie was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy and remained active in the church during her entire adult life, serving as Sunday school teacher and pastor. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, and a loving mother and grandmother. Her life was centered around family and faith.

She is survived by her sister, Sadie Messner (Gene) of Twin Falls, Idaho; two daughters, Christine Neptune-Otto (Randy) of Glenwood and Alice Kuersten (John) of Rulison; two sons, Richard Neptune (Sherman) of Union City, NJ, and Kevin Neptune of Parachute; six grandchildren, Andrew Kuersten, Kaitlyn Kuersten, Christina Neptune, Brittany Neptune, Brooke Neptune and Evin Neptune; and two great-grandchildren, Lilyann Conard and Alysha Prebble.

Effie is preceded in death by her father, mother and husband.

Visitation will be held at Farnum-Holt Funeral Home in Glenwood Springs, on Tuesday, January 31st, 2012, from 6-8 pm. Memorial service will be held in Rifle at the Church of the Open Door, on Wednesday, February 1st, 2012, at 1 pm. Graveside service to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle.
