Efting Glenwood’s new parks and recreation director

Former Avon town manager Bill Efting is the new Glenwood Springs director of parks and recreation, replacing Dan Rodgerson. Efting started Wednesday.

“I went the complete circle,” says Efting. “I went back to what I started doing in Aspen, where I was parks and recreation director.”

Efting, 49, holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in public recreation administration. “I’m the king of fun,” he says.

Efting left Avon Dec. 1, 2002, after seven years as town manager to accept the town managership of South Padre Island, Texas, only to resign seven weeks later. He returned to Colorado in May.
