Elaine M. Hisel, 78, of Parachute, died Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale.There will be a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, with Father Robert Hehn officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Rifle.Visitation hours will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, at Farnum-Holt Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood Springs.She was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Denver, to Ladis John and Martha Mary (Laufenberg) Stefanski. She spent her childhood in Denver and attended St. Joseph’s High School.She married Forrest Clifton Hisel on Oct. 23, 1948.Her husband preceded her in death.She lived in Denver, and was a 41-year resident of Parachute. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rifle. She loved to crochet and cook, and enjoyed reading Westerns.Survivors include sons Pat (Carol) Hisel of Mesa, Tim (Fran) Hisel of Yucaipa, Calif., James V. Hisel of Grand Junction and Joe (Wendy) Hisel of Rifle; daughters Terrie Hisel Anders of Glenwood Springs and Tami Hisel Bennett of Pleasant Plains, Ark.; brothers Lenard Stefanski, Donald Stefanski and John Stefanski, all of Denver; sisters Merrige Owens and Bernie Penrose; and 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
