Elizabeth "Betty" Ellen Pretti

Elizabeth “Betty” Ellen Pretti, who once owned and operated the Lariat Saloon in Glenwood Springs, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. She was 81.

She was born April 12, 1920, in Silt, Colo., to Joseph Ruggero and Esther Krishenbammer Ruggero.

She spent her childhood in Silt, and married Ernest “Babe” Pretti. He died in 1989.

She was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Glenwood, and the Eagles Auxiliary.

She is survived by: sons Ralph and Larry Pretti, both of Glenwood Springs; one grandchild; and sister-in-law Josephine Ruggero and brother-in-law Louis Bendetti.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and William Ruggero, and two sisters, Elen Bacca and Angelena Bendetti.

A private graveside inurnment will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs. Father Cliff McMillan will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eagles Club Auxiliary #215, 312 Seventh St., Glenwood Springs CO 81601.
