Elsie M. Pallister

Elsie M. Pallister, of Gypsum, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Swedish Hospital in Denver. She was 87.

She was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Burns to Isabella McMillan and John Wright.

She married William “Bill” Pallister May 26, 1936. He preceded her in death.

A lifelong resident of the area, she was a homemaker and assistant librarian at the Eagle County Library for 10 years.

She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, very active in First Baptist Church in Gypsum and a volunteer at Eagle Historical Museum later in her life.

Mrs. Pallister is survived by son Carl Pallister, of Denver; by daughters Josephine Herder, of Thornton, and Jo Ann Maness, of Denver; by brother John Wright, of Big Springs, Utah; by sister Elizabeth Mansfield, of Ponca City, Okla.; and by 10 grandchildren and more than 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Monday, June 30, at Farnum-Holt Funeral Chapel.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at First Baptist Church in Gypsum with the Rev. Bruce Foster officiating.

Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Gypsum.
