‘Escape artist’ in trouble with Glenwood Springs Police again

A man who police said “wormed” his way out of a patrol car during a Nov. 2 arrest was arrested again Sunday at the same place on similar charges.Scott Bradley Christenson, 35, was arrested Sunday afternoon on suspicion of false imprisonment, second-degree burglary, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, violating a restraining order, harassment and stalking.He was arrested Nov. 2 on suspicion of second-degree assault, resisting arrest and attempting to escape. Police said he escaped from a patrol car while handcuffed by wiggling through a window in the Plexiglas separator between the front and back seats, then exiting the vehicle’s front door. He was arrested shortly after down the street. He had allegedly placed a woman in a “headlock,” police said.On Sunday, an officer arrived at the same residence on the 700 block of Bennett Avenue and was told Christenson unlawfully broke into the woman’s home. A Glenwood Springs Police Department report says the officer was advised that Christenson grabbed the woman by her hair, refused to let her leave and had tried to contact her by phone prior to the incident multiple times. Police arrested Christenson after the interview with the alleged victim, according to the report.After the first arrest, Christenson’s bond had been set at $8,000.
