City/town: Glenwood SpringsArtist statement: Growing up in Glenwood Springs, I have been inspired by the natural surroundings in the Colorado and Utah areas. As an artist, I look for unique perspectives on subject matter. I find angles that you would not normally see or look at to capture the beauty of the subject. My subject matter consists of still lifes, cityscapes, landscapes and florals. My drawings and paintings are bold and striking with emphasis on light, color and form.Artist education: I received my bachelor’s of fine arts and graphic design from Colorado State University.Shows and gallery exhibitions: Main Street Gallery, Glenwood Springs – show to start on Saturday, opening will be Friday, April 14; and Glenwood Springs Art Guild Fall Art FestivalFamily information: All of my family lives in Colorado. My parents both live in Glenwood Springs. They have both been very inspirational and have encouraged me to pursue the things I love in life.How did you get started as an artist? I have been painting since I was a kid!What do you do in your free time? I love being in the outdoors hiking, biking and snowboarding. I am also a musician and spend much of my time playing guitar and drums.What’s your favorite medium? Pastel, but I also paint in watercolor and oil as well.Who’s your favorite artist? There are several local and nationally-known artists and teachers who have inspired me over the years including Annie Brooks, Dean Bowlby, Dan Young, Susan Sedon Boulet, Gustav Klimt, Claude Monet, Vincent VanGogh, Georgia O’Keefe and many more.What is your biggest inspiration? Nature and the outdoors
