City/hometown: I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and have resided in the Roaring Fork Valley since 1969 – Carbondale since 1980.Occupation: I am the director of the Colorado Mountain College’s children’s mini college in Glenwood Springs and I love doing art projects with the children. They are amazing artists. Background in art: I have been taking drawing, watercolor and pastel classes at CMC since 1998.Inspiration: My first drawing instructor at CMC, Cami Lien, was instrumental in inspiring me to love painting and continue taking classes. This beautiful valley we live in inspires me on a daily basis.

Favorite art subject: Mount Sopris – it is right outside my window. Most memorable exhibit: I am thrilled to have my current show at the Swiss Gourmet at 335 Main in Carbondale, and every year the Fall Art Festival is fabulous.Family: My husband is Bill Dunn; my mother and sisters live in Alberta, Canada.Three artists you would like to spend a weekend with: This is very difficult – there are so many artists whose work I am inspired by. Today, I would choose Cami Lien, Georgia O’Keeffe, and John Nieto.

Were you in art club in high school? There was not an art club in the small town (650 population) where I grew up in Canada. What one piece of art would you like to have hanging in your living room: I have many favorites – Van Gogh’s Sunflowers or John Nieto’s Buffalo.Do you draw people? Usually only in workshops or classes.
