Fall/spring counseling class schedule released

Colorado West Counseling Services has announced its class and workshop schedule for fall 2002 and spring 2003.

Three-week sessions run monthly from Oct. 2 to June 11 at the Glenwood Springs office, 6916 Highway 82, and from Oct. 1 through June 10 at the Rifle office, 902 Taughenbaugh, Suite 303.

The cost is $90 per session.

Classes include “Thinking Better, Feeling Better” for adults who want to develop new thinking techniques to change life approaches and break out of a cycle of a chaotic lifestyle, anxiety and depression.

“Women in Discovery” is a holistic, strengths-based group focusing on self-esteem and treatment of trauma.

“Anger Management” is an eight-week class in which participants learn to resolve conflict, manage and use anger effectively and identify the sources, thoughts and feelings behind anger.

Other classes include smoking cessation, individual and group therapy for sexual abuse and the Five O’Clock Club, designed for relief of immediate stressors. Cost for the Five O’Clock Club is $5 per session.

Colorado West also offers half-day workshops on attention deficit disorder, “For Latina Women Only” and anxiety disorders.

Some classes and workshops will be offered upon request on subjects including panic attacks, couples therapy, managing chronic pain, adoptive families, grief, divorce, parenting, bipolar disorder and issues of the elderly.
