Family Law Day set for May 9

The Ninth Judicial District (Garfield, Pitkin and Rio Blanco counties) will hold a Family Law Day on May 9, offering a variety of legal services and advice for self-represented parties, all at no charge.

The event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Garfield County Combined Courts, 109 Eighth St. in Glenwood Springs, will provide services to complete court-ordered mediation and will offer one-hour sessions with private attorneys for free legal advice. A free Parenting through Divorce class will be offered from 3-4 p.m.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., participants also will be able to receive assistance in completing court forms for domestic relations cases.

Preregistration is required by May 2 for mediation, legal advice and the parenting class. Spanish interpreters will be available.
