Faye Brannan Faas

Faye Brannan Faas, of Glenwood Springs, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 31, 2005. She was 65.

Faye was born Nov. 4, 1939, in Los Angeles, to Walter and Zoë Brennan.

Faye grew up in Los Angeles, but as a girl she spent many happy summers in New Castle with her cousins.

In 1978, Faye fulfilled a lifelong dream when she moved to New Castle with her son, Eric. Faye loved beautiful land and old buildings. She channeled this passion onto a career, devoting many years to acquiring and restoring various properties throughout the area.

Faye had an adventurous spirit. This spirit took her many places, whether it be a boat on the Pacific Ocean, a motorcycle in the Mojave Desert, or horseback riding in the Rocky Mountains. Her spirit will live on in all who know her.

One of the final joys of her life was her grandson, Vincent.

Faye is survived by her son, Eric (Kristin) Faas, of Glenwood Springs; grandson, Vincent, of Glenwood Springs; brothers, Jim and Tom Brannan, of Los Angeles; other family members and a host of friends.

There will be a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Farnum-Holt Funeral Home in Glenwood Springs.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Roaring Fork Hospice.

Farnum-Holt Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
