Fill up your own stomach while helping fill someone else’s

The annual Empty Bowl Benefit, sponsored by Colorado Mountain College’s Senior Nutrition Project, High Country RSVP and LIFT-UP, happens from 1-7 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Rifle Senior Center, 50 Ute Ave.

Advance tickets are $15 and include your choice from a selection of hand-crafted ceramic bowls, food and drink, and are available at Rifle and Glenwood Springs Senior Nutrition Centers and LIFT-UP offices. Tickets are $20 at the door. For $8, receive everything but the bowl (soup will be served in a Styrofoam bowl).

The event is a fund- and awareness-raiser for the area’s hungry. Proceeds go to support Senior Nutrition Project and LIFT-UP’s food pantries and the people from Parachute to Carbondale who rely on them. Call 945-9117 or 945-2005 for more information.
