Final countdown to Culinary Arts, Wine & Brewfest

Local cuisine, cold microbrews, world-class vintners, live music, and cooking demonstrations are just a taste of the offerings at the Seventh Annual Culinary Arts, Wine & Brewfest.The Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts major fundraiser takes place from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Hotel Colorado. This year’s theme, “Grape and Grain on the Rocks,” celebrates the tradition of culinary delights up and down the Roaring Fork Valley. Labels from wineries and breweries throughout Colorado and the United States will also take center stage.”This event has proven to be one of the most anticipated and fun evenings of the year for many locals and visitors to Glenwood Springs,” said Gayle Mortell, Center for the Arts director. “It’s a time for food lovers to come to the beautiful Hotel Colorado, visit with friends, enjoy music, food, wine, beer, and even learn something new from one of our talented chefs offering demonstrations on creating your own masterpiece.”Van Wampler and Kirk Carlson will provide the evening’s entertainment, with live music and dancing in both the Devereux and Colorado rooms.Proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction, which features numerous products and services from valley retail shops, restaurants, and companies, help fund the Center’s arts and cultural programs. Corporate or family sponsorships are still available and donated items for the silent auction are still being accepted.Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door, and are available at the Center for the Arts, the Glenwood Springs Chamber Association, Design Audio and Video, and from any Culinary Arts, Wine & Brewfest committee members.
