Finance figures in from fair

Preliminary financial numbers are in for August’s 2004 Garfield County Fair, putting the county fair fund firmly in the black.Garfield County director of operations Dale Hancock presented Garfield County commissioners with a second draft of the 2004 fair’s P&L statement this week, which shows the fair generated a profit of more than $4,000. Hancock said neither revenue nor expenses for the Chris LeDoux concert were factored into the numbers, since Colorado West, an outside promoter, handled that event. The fair generated more than $21,000 in revenue, which came from sales tax, both the pro and junior rodeos, livestock and vendors. Expenses came to a little more than $19,000. The pro and junior rodeos, in addition to Brentis Rodeo Co., accounted for more than $15,000 in costs. Other expenses included operating supplies, advertising and contract labor.
