Fire in Carbondale trailer, no one hurt

The Carbondale Fire Dept. battled an early morning blaze at the Sopris RV Park, resulting in the complete loss of a trailer and no injuries or fatalities.”We’re just happy that the occupants of this trailer made it out safely while they had a chance,” said Carl Smith, Carbondale Rural Fire Protection district deputy fire chief, in a press release.Two fire engines, one tender, one ambulance and 19 firefighters responded to the fire, which occurred at 2:15 a.m. in the mobile home park, located just northwest of Carbondale. The first arriving units discovered a fully involved trailer in the middle of the RV park. Surrounding trailers and mobile homes were evacuated and the fire was quickly extinguished, preventing the spread to nearby trailers and propane tanks.The fire’s cause was not available at press time.
