Flags to half-staff to honor trooper

Gov. John Hickenlooper has ordered flags be lowered to half-staff on Monday on all public buildings statewide in memory of Colorado State Trooper Jaimie Jursevics. Flags should be lowered from sunrise to sunset.

Jursevics was struck and killed by a suspected intoxicated driver while assisting with a crash investigation on the evening of Nov. 15. Jursevics served Colorado for nearly five years. Upon graduation from the Colorado State Patrol academy, she was assigned to the patrol’s Vail post. In September 2014, she transferred to the Castle Rock troop office.

She is survived by her husband and daughter.
