Frank Don Shrull

Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado

Frank Don Shrull of New Castle passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25, surrounded by family and friends. He was 82.

Known as Don to everyone who knew him, Shrull was born on Feb. 18, 1929, in Palmer Lake, Colo., and grew up on a ranch outside Basalt on East Sopris Creek.

After serving in the Army, which included two years in Korea, Don moved to New Castle in 1957. He married Barbara James in 1958 and they had two sons, Jim and Dale Shrull.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Helen Shrull, two brothers, William and Charles, and his wife Barbara.

Don is survived by his sons Jim and Dale, his granddaughters Jamie Ownbey, Jessie Weaver and Jackie Silva, 8 great-granddaughters and countless friends around the area.



A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. at the New Castle Community Center
