Frank Gabossi

Frank Gabossi, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Sept. 25, 2006, at the Rifle Veterans Home.Frank was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Pershing, Iowa, to Frank and Julia Gabossi.Frank proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre, helping to liberate Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Saipan and the Marshall Islands.Frank moved to Oak Creek, where he met and later married Gloria Brock in 1952.He worked in the mining industry as a mine foreman in Utah and Colorado.He loved hiking, hunting, and fishing and most of all, his family and the Lord.Frank is survived by his wife; son Roc (Mary) Gabossi; daughter Kathy (Bernie) Whitman; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers Tony Gabossi, Carlo Gabossi, Victor Gabossi, John Gabossi and Albino Gabossi; and sisters Mary Moats, Louisa Albright, Jovanina Brehm and Jackie Malcom.He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Gabossi.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at St.Mary’s Parish, 761 Birch Ave. in Rifle.A small graveside service will be held at a later date.Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
