Frank Homer Caywood of Palisade passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, at the Palisade Living Center. He was 98.Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday, Oct. 22, at the McLean Funeral Home Chapel in Palisade. Services will begin at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in New Castle.Frank was born May 20, 1906, to William and Laura (Proctor) Caywood on Piceance Creek in rural Rio Blanco County where he spent his childhood and attended schools.On Sept. 16, 1930, he married Opal Jane Blake in Guymon, Okla. They moved from Oklahoma to New Castle in the spring of 1935. In 2000, they moved to Palisade to make their home. Mrs. Caywood passed away May 1, 2001, in Palisade.Frank was a member of the Assembly of God in Glenwood Springs. He loved spending time with family and friends and greatly enjoyed the outdoors.Survivors include a son, Howard (Elaine) Caywood of Grand Junction; three daughters, Vivian (John) Meeney and Adalene Meeney, all of Glenwood, and Charlotte Lopez of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Brenda and Chris Caywood, Maureen Anthony, Shannon Lissolo, Tom and Caryl Meeney, and Hope Hill; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.He is preceded in death by eight brothers, eight sisters, and a granddaughter, Elaine Ingels.McLean Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
