Frederick John Koch

Frederick John Koch passed away March 21, 2009.

Fred was born June 24, 1930, in Columbus, Neb., to Albert and Alice Koch. Fred spent his childhood on a farm in Columbus.

As a young man, Fred was inspired by conversations with his grandmother and uncles which focused on God and the Bible. He was motivated to dedicate his life to his God Jehovah in 1943.

Fred married Nadene Williams Aug. 19, 1951. They shared a beautiful life together with their three children, until his beloved Nadene died in September of 2004.

Fred married Leora Laine (Marks) in 2005. They treasured their time together, along with sharing their worship of Jehovah. Leora took tender care of him through a lengthy illness and the last days of his life.

Many knew Fred as a man with passion for life. Fred will be remembered for his competitive nature and stories of his adventures; most of all his tireless zeal for sharing Bible truths with others.

Fred is survived by his second wife; children John Koch, Becky (Ronn) Coates, and Lori (Terry) Gish; stepchildren Randall Wilson, Sandra (MIchael) Kirby, and Jamie Wilson; sister Lenore Trofholz; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1022 County Road 294 in Rifle.
