Frederick T. Voight

Frederick T. Voight, of Battlement Mesa, passed away in his sleep at the Glen Valley Nursing Home. He was 89 years old.

Fred was born March 19, 1916, to Frederick and Rosemary Voight in Milwaukee, Wis. He attended Spencerian College, then worked at various jobs. During the 1930s, he worked in the movies, before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1939. He later transferred to the Army-Air Force. He received an honorable discharge in 1945 and returned to Milwaukee.

Fred married Alice Bauschlicher in August 1946.

He was employed by General Motors and retired in 1974.

In 1976, Fred moved to Tucson, Ariz., where he met Juanita Inman. They became companions and shared their lives together for the next 28 years. They moved to Battlement Mesa in 1985.

He is survived by sons, Tom (Diane), of New Castle, and Frederick Karl, of Palmer, Alaska; daughter Sue Ann (Alan) Falkenburg, of Waukesha, Wis.; and grandchildren Jennifer, Shane, Luke, Andreas, Tyrone and Preston.

He was preceded in death by his son, Todd.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Rifle Funeral Home.
