5th Annual Valley-Wide Student Filmfest

Basalt High School presents the Fifth Annual Valley-Wide Student Filmfest. The programs will be shown at the Basalt Middle School Auditorium at 7:30 Friday and Saturday, May 7 and 8. This year’s festival includes short films by students from Roaring Fork High School, Yampah Mountain High School, Colorado Rocky Mountain School, Basalt High School, Glenwood Springs High School and Aspen High School.

Train lecture

Richard Luckin, of Golden, Colo., will be presenting a program on the famous California Zephyr passenger train at this month’s meeting of the Western Colorado Chapter, National Railway Historical Society.

The program, 7 p.m. Wednesday May 5, at the Glenwood Railroad Museum (in the Glenwood Springs Amtrak station), is open to the public. Information: Jan, 928-8721.

Club Cabaret

St. Mary Catholic Church in Rifle will host its postponed Club Cabaret at 7 and 9 p.m. Friday, May 14. The cabaret will feature singing, dancing, and instrumental performances. Admission is $10 for adults, and $8 for seniors and children under 12. In addition to a great evening of entertainment, guests will be treated to a delicious dessert and beverage.
