TASTE OF CARBONDALE
Taste of Carbondale is next week. The annual Carbondale Chamber fund-raiser is from 6-10:30 p.m. June 12, at the Colorado Rocky Mountain School Barn. There will be food from 15 local restaurants, music by “Cool Rodeo,” a silent auction, and the Carbondale Man and Woman of the Year Awards. Information: 963-1890.
BLUEGRASS IN HOTCHKISS
The North Fork Valley Bluegrass Festival runs June 11-13 in Hotchkiss. The festival will have on-site camping, workshops, jams, kids activities, and acts such as Kane’s River and Chris Jones Coalition, among others. Information: http://www.northforkbluegrass.com.
THEATER IN ASPEN
More than 150 actors and theater practitioners from around Colorado will meet in Aspen for four days of performances and workshops at the 16th annual Colorado Theater Festival. The festival highlights one-hour productions June 9-12. Single-performance tickets are $15, and a pass for the whole festival is $55. Information: 920-9241.
CONSERVANCY RIVER FLOAT
The Roaring Fork Conservancy will host a River Float on the Roaring Fork River Saturday, June 12. River Float 2004 offers participants an opportunity to experience the valley from the river’s perspective while learning about wildlife, water issues and conservation efforts, and having tons of fun. The float starts at 1 p.m. at the Glenwood Community Center and ends with a barbecue at the Veltus Park take-out. The event is free and open to anyone 8 or older. Reserve a space by June 9.
