Glenwood Springs Stock up on fresh veggies at the Saturday Farmers Market in the True Value parking lot, beginning at 7:30 a.m.Craig Sherwood will show off his chainsaw woodcarving at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.Rifle Antiques, classics, hot rods and motorcycles at the Rifle Centennial Auto Show will line up at 9:30 a.m. and judging begins at 10; on Third Street. The Vintage Fashion Show begins at 10 a.m.The Kids Bicycle Parade is at 9:30 a.m. on Railroad Avenue from Second Street to Heinze Park. Following the parade therell be games and a watermelon-spitting contest for the kids.Rifle Falls State Park offers talks in the afternoon and evening with a live bald eagle at 3 p.m., a history of the park at 7 p.m. and stargazing at 9 p.m., all at the Mountain Mist Amphitheater.There will be dancing in the streets from 7-10 p.m. on Third Street.

Apple Tree Park, New CastleThe 26th annual July Fourth Freedom Celebration is from noon until after 9:30 p.m. ,when the fireworks start. This New Castle tradition is focused on family entertainment with a horseshoe tournament, sand treasure hunt and music. (see Options for music schedule)RifleThis year Rifle celebrates Independence Day as part of its year-long centennial festivities. Begin the day with the rangers at Rifle Falls State Park Mountain Mist Amphitheater at 10 a.m. for a wildflower walk.As part of the centennial celebration, everyone is invited to pose for the communitywide photo that will be shot at 5:30 p.m. at the Garfield county Fairgrounds bleachers. The photo will go into a time capsule during the citys centennial party Aug. 18.The fireworks promise to be the biggest in 100 years. Presented by the Rifle Fire Department, theyre set to go off between 8:30 and 9 p.m., and word is theyll last for two hours.Carbondale The towns celebration begins at 4 p.m. with the 28th annual Kids Parade on Main Street. Kids dress in costume, decorate their bikes, play musical instruments and drag along their pets. Festivities move to Sopris Park after the parade, where there will be free watermelon, kid games and art projects, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, a bocce ball tournament, barbecue and music (See Options for music schedule).The fireworks begin at dusk presented by the Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District.Redstone The Redstone Community Association and the Carbondale Rural & Fire Protection District present Redstones annual Independence Day Celebration. Therell be events all along Redstone Boulevard and in Redstone Park. The fun begins at 10 a.m. with a pie sale by the ladies of Redstone, available by the slice, or buy a whole pie at the Redstone Museum and in the park. At noon, see the famous Redstone Parade down the boulevard with floats sponsored by local businesses. Kids games begin at 1 p.m. in the park and the traditional fire department water hose contest. Dont miss the dunk tank where Redstone notables will be taking a ride. Music can be heard all afternoon in the park gazebo and the Crystal Club Cafe. (See Options for music schedule)BasaltThe annual town picnic runs from 4 to 6 p.m. in Arbaney Park, sponsored by the Basalt Regional Heritage Society.
